Bring your beautiful bare face!  I prefer for you to come with clean, exfoliated and moisturized skin (no sunscreen).  I am also a big fan of dermaplaning before a big event (It's nice but not necessary, just something to consider)  I would also recommend wearing a loose button down shirt that you won't have to pull over your head.  In addition, I like to see pictures of how you would do your makeup on a normal day, how you would do your makeup for a special event and then a few inspiration photos of makeup looks you like that also mirror the colors or intensity that you're looking for, along with the outfit you will be wearing that day.  It never hurts to see pictures of anything really, I love to hear about the vibe for the event - colors, lighting, daytime vs nighttime, outfits, jewelry, flowers, or if there's a specific theme, etc.  It helps me to paint a whole picture in my head that extends beyond your makeup.

Yes, the total mileage round trip will be billed at the 2025 IRS standarized rate of .70 cents per mile.  The travel fee will be in addition to the fee for your service you will be receiving.

As a freelance makeup artist my job is 100% mobile and travel will always be required.  I have chosen not to build my travel fees into into my makeup prices because they can vary based on the location I will be traveling to.  I currently serve all of Massachusetts and the six states that surround it.  A job that is 10 minutes away will not require the same amount of time and planning that a job 6 hours away would require.  Some jobs will require me to obtain overnight accommodations depending on the location and start time, which then requires me to obtain a pet sitter, and in some cases I may also have to obtain a rental car which also requires gas/tolls/parking/valet etc.  Basically this is a long winded way of saying that travel charges can add up quickly and its not a make believe cash grab.  Thank you for your understanding!

The $100 dollar deposit required to book a wedding serves a few purposes.  Since weddings can sometimes book up to two years in advance it encourages long term commitment from both of us.  It also blocks off and secures that day to devote to you and your bridal party.  Because of my inability to serve other clients that day, It allows me to turn away other work and jobs for that day.  It helps cover small administrative costs such as running my website and being able to take time to complete phone calls, text messages and emails from clients.  It also offers me a small amount of financial leeway to purchase and restock any necessary products that I will need to have on hand to execute all of the makeup applications for your event.  It also offers me a financial incentive to block out highly coveted weekends and holidays during peak seasons.  

All prices listed are not open to negotiation, discounts, trade, barter, haggling, etc.  At this point in my career it would be a disservice to myself, my skills, my experience, my time and my family who depend on me financially, to accept any unpaid work.  I’m also not able to offer discounts because I dont discount the service or the quality of the work.  I find that there is a completely different mindset when there is an exchange of money for a service versus when its given out for free.  Makeup services are able to reach a different level when they are formalized and compensated.  Its important for makeup services to be compensated to honor both of our time and its value.  Therefore, at this time im only able to fill my schedule with clients who see the value in my services.  If you dont, thats ok!  I promise that there is someone out there that can meet your needs and your budget. 

Starting in 2004 my base rate for makeup services has increased $5 dollars every year to keep up with inflation.  That increase also mirrors my years of experience.  My prices are also based on the local market (Boston, MA) and reflect the cost for on location professional makeup artist services.  The prices listed also reflect the cost of living for my area (Boston, MA) The prices also reflect the quality of products being used.  The prices I currently charge keep me motivated, and keep my business sustainable and profitable.  

If we look at freelance makeup artist services as a whole I believe there is a market along the whole continuum.  For instance you could probably find a beauty school student who would do your makeup for free in exchange for the practice, and being able to gain some  experience and a few new photos for their portfolio.  On the other end of the spectrum I've heard of celebrity makeup artists that charge upwards of $10,000 dollars for the day.  There will always be people who want the cheapest solution and there will always be people who want the most expensive top notch experience available to them.  

With all that in mind, when I think of on location freelance makeup services on a bell shaped curve with a range from $0 - $10,000 I have decided what I think my market value is and where I currently feel like I land based on all of the aforementioned reasons.  I would never want anyone to buy something they don't see the value in!  Therefore instead of trying to devalue my work in order to afford my services, your energy and efforts might be better used to secure a less expensive artist.  I promise there is someone out there that can meet any budget!

At the end of the day, I am an artist that has determined the value of my art and my prices are what my prices are and they will continue to rise every year to match my continued growth.  

Gratuities, tips and donations are always welcome and will be used towards business setup!

That being said, gratuities are not included. Gratuities are left to the discretion of the client, and therefore are not reflected in the pricing. However, they are always greatly appreciated if you feel you have received excellent service!

Please thoroughly check all payments before paying for services, any overages will be considered gratuities.

Once services are rendered all deposits, payments and sales are final, no refunds.

At this time, all prices listed cannot be guaranteed past 2025.  The most current and up to date pricing will be posted on my website.  If you need a customized quote please reach out via email with your date, time and prep location of your event along with the number of people in need of makeup services.  For Bridal Makeup once you have a signed contract with the current rates you are guaranteed that price if the rates go up.  If you have any questions about what your final total will be on the day of your appointment please feel free to reach out ahead of time, I am happy to give you an estimate of what your total bill will be.
